The Fordoun Farm Village is built with the purpose of tapping into the Agri Tourism, leisure and wedding market, and at the same time growing our conferencing market. With panoramic views of the Drakensberg Mountains, in a tranquil country setting, the feeling of relaxation and romance is almost tangible. 9 luxurious self-catering chalets provide ample accommodation for 34 guests. Our Multi Functional Venue is a state of the art facility, combining a breathtaking wow affect with stunning views, while at the same time offering practicality and convenience to the guest. 

Although the Farm Village is separate to the original Hotel, Restaurant and Spa, there is a lot of synergy between the two establishments. Adults staying at the Farm Village do have access to the facilities up at the Hotel and this works both ways. The Farm Village is family orientated with activities for children being a continuous focus for us!

The driving distance between the Fordoun Farm Village and Hotel & Spa is a mere 900m and walking, just 500m. Allowing you to conveniently access the  Hotel & Spa.

2019 – RATES

2 x 3 Bed roomed Chalets             – R4 100.00 per chalet per night

4 x 2 Bed roomed Chalets             – R3 100.00 per chalet per night

3 x 1 Bed roomed Chalets             – R1 600.00 per chalet per night

(These rates are subject to change and a minimum stay of 2 nights on weekend and school holidays is required)

The Chalets are fully catered with linen, bath towels (one per person so bring along more should you require), kitchen crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils and glasses.  All you will need to bring is your food, clothes, and personal toiletries.  One bag of charcoal and fire lighters is provided during your stay as well as a daily cleaning service.   

All bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms with a bath and a shower.  Unfortunately, there are no amenities supplied, however, there is hand soap for the basin.  Being a self-catering chalet, guests are required to bring their own toiletries and extra towels. 

Guests staying in our self-catering chalets are most welcome to make use of the Skye Restaurant and Fordoun Spa, however, bookings need to be made in advance to avoid any disappointment.  Breakfast is served from 07:00-10:30, Lunch from 12:00-15:30 and dinner from 18:00-21:00. Our dress code for dinner is smart casual and we request that no shorts and sandals are worn. 

Children:

  • Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the dining room after 18:00. Dinner is served for children from 17:00-18:00.
  • Child Minders are available at a rate of R45.00 per hour and we ask that a 24 hour notice period is given in order to arrange this facility.
  • Children under the age of 12 are not permitted in the spa from 08:00-19:00 while treatments are taking place.  Should you wish to make use of the pool for the children the pool covers are removed at 07:00 and the children are most welcome to make use of the pools from 07:00-08:00 and then again after 19:00 to 20:00.  The pool is situated in our spa.

Check in time is 14h00 and check out time is 11h00.

Situated on one of the oldest Natal Midlands farms,the Fordoun Spa, Boutique Hotel and Restaurant have been established by the Bates Family out of the Old Dairy and Farmyard Buildings. The addition of the Fordoun Farm Village forms the perfect foundation for a Midlands Meander wedding venue. Some of the Buildings are in stone dating back to the late 1860’s in which the Byrne Settler William Taylor lived and farmed. As most of the original settlers came from Perthshire, the names of many farms in the area are Scottish. Fordoun is named after a loch in Scotland.

CONFERENCE FACILITIES

If you are planning a conference look no further than the Fordoun Conference Centres. Fordoun is situated on the green pastures of a Nottingham Road Dairy Farm, with original farm buildings having been painstakingly transformed into the atmospheric spa, hotel and conference centre.  Fordoun is the venue where delegates will have a most enjoyable stay.

The Hotel Conference Centre caters for up to 60 delegates seated cinema style, or 40 delegates at tables. Quality equipment is on hand such as flip charts, whiteboards, wireless internet, data projector and screen.

The Farm Village Conference Centre caters for up to 100 delegates seated cinema style, U shape and school room style.  The latest state of the art equipment is on hand with 3 data projector screens, whiteboards and wireless internet and a magnificent view of the Drakensberg Mountains.

The Conference Centres can be booked for day or fully inclusive conferences.  If booking a day conference, morning and afternoon tea and snack breaks as well as lunch are included and breakfast, lunch, tea and dinner are included in the fully inclusive conference bookings.

Fordoun Hotel has 22 rooms that can accommodate 44 delegates. Each room is a double suite, individually appointed with under floor heating, a private veranda, a dream bathroom, with shower and bath, a television and tea and coffee making facilities.

The Fordoun Farm Village has 9 chalets :

2 x 3 bedroomed, 4 x 2 bedroomed and 3 x 1 bedroomed.

A popular idea is to spoil spouses at the spa while the delegates attend their conference. The spa offers a variety of treatments including aromatherapy body and bath treatments, detoxing and therapeutic body packs, body wraps as well as various massages, facials, manicures and pedicures. A saline flotation pool, indoor pool, gym, sauna, steam room, hydrotherapy room and couples’ treatment suite are also all on offer.
