These photographs are taken at his place, 50 metres outside the Spa, called KwaNdlovu (Place of Ndlovu). This is in actual fact a part of our Spa but is where we do specific treatments using traditional extracts from Zulu healing plants. There are two therapy rooms at KwaNdlovu. Elliot has his consulting room in the centre. The area is surrounded by a garden of over 120 varieties of traditional healing plants. |

Elliot is touching the African Potato, known in Zulu as Inkomfe. It has been called Africa's miracle plant and has anti cancer properties as well as building immunity. |

Elliot is seated between beds of Artemesia Afra and Leonotis Leonorus both of which are significant healing plants which are used in a wide variety of products and treatments at Fordoun. |
Elliot is both a Sangoma (Spiritual Healer) and Inyanga (Medicinal Healer). He consults with many of our guests. He is a Director of our company and plays a major role at Fordoun.
Thendela Village Cultural Tour

THENDELA VILLAGE is situated in the Kamberg valley resting in the foothills of the Drakensberg. This is
where you will go to experience a functioning Zulu village with your guide Traditional Doctor Elliott Ndlovu.
After a short briefing from Elliott the tour leaves Fordoun for Thendela village. On arrival at Thendela village
Elliott will take you down to the stream where he met his ancestors, and had the calling to become a Sangoma
(spiritual healer) and an Inyanga (indigenous herbalist). This transient experience will be explained.
Lunch then follows which is a Picnic that will be enjoyed in the village.
After lunch Elliot takes guests into his consulting room and explains Zulu traditional healing and spiritual
practices. Specific individual consultations can be arranged with Elliot either at Thendela or later or the
following morning at Fordoun if requested. Nestled in the foothills of the Drakensberg, safe and welcoming,
Thendela is an experience of real Zulu family life in a beautiful rustic setting. Fordoun arranges packed
